Steve is an accomplished woodwind player, and has freelanced in jazz, commercial, and symphonic music for over 30 years on saxes, flutes and clarinets. Steve’s formal training took place at the acclaimed University of North Florida’s jazz program, where he completed his Bachelor of Music in Jazz Performance (summa cum laude) in 1999. Over the years Steve has shared the stage with such greats as Aretha Franklin, Arturo Sandoval, Joe Lovano, Carl Fontana, Mary Wilson (of the Supremes), the Four Tops, the Tommy Dorsey Orchestra, and the Savannah Symphony Orchestra, to name a few. Steve has played extensively in theatre orchestras as well, most notably with the 25th anniversary Broadway production of Annie. Steve is proficient in all the saxophones, flute and piccolo, clarinet and bass clarinet, and has played countless wedding ceremonies and receptions as well.
For many years Steve has played jazz with a select group of veteran South Mississippi musicians. Our extensive experience enables us to play any style of jazz, and to do so in a variety of configurations. We can perform as small as a duo (piano or guitar with sax or flute) or scale up to a larger group with bass, drums, trumpet and trombone if you’re looking for a bigger sound.
With decades of professional music experience between us, you can be assured we’ll bring a tasteful, professional, delightful musical performance to your special event.
